Sausage Stars

Sausage Stars

I have a collection of recipes from all 3 different states that we have lived in.  This one for sausage stars came from Vacation Bible School one summer in Arkansas.  I was teaching and a group of ladies had made snacks for the teachers.  I tried them and I had to get the recipe.  This recipe is from my dear friend  Charlotte Wafford!
Hope you all enjoy them as much as my family does.

I cooked these on TV in the month of May so I am running behind blogging about them.  I attached the link where you can watch!

Start off with Sausage

You want to brown your sausage meat and drain it

A small bottle of wishbone Ranch dressing.
You will learn quick that I don't use fake anything!  If I can't have real Mayo, Ranch, Butter, Cream Cheese, Or sour cream then I don't cook it!  I believe that the real is better for you any way.... just get your butts up the next morning and run it off.  And just because you cook a whole pan doesn't mean you have to eat the whole pan!!!!!

Mix the drained Sausage and 1/2 the bottle of ranch together.
Then you are going to add 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese and stir it all together.
You may need more dressing because you want it to all stick together from the dressing

Then you add a small can of chopped black olives...
This is my helper for the morning...
She is in her swimsuit we are heading to the pool today because it has not rained in TX in like a year!

Here is helper #2..
She wants you to take Jewish Rye bread and cut the slices in half

Spray you pan with Pam and spread the Rye bread on the tray

Now top with the olive mixture and bake at 350 degrees long enough to melt the cheese
and toast the bread

Then you serve.
Mrs. Charlotte told me that you can freeze these and use them later!
But I can assure you they will be a big hit!

Here is my link to when I cooked them on TV...
